Gemma Southern brings over 20 years of communications leadership across law, finance and professional services.

As a local councillor in Warrington, Gemma is committed to building stronger communities and making public services more accessible. She’s known for her ability to engage diverse audiences and communicate complex issues with clarity and impact.

Her role includes:

  • Showcasing the impact of projects led and funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).
  • Leading stakeholder engagement and communications.
  • Connecting the PCC’s priorities to everyday policing.
  • Overseeing commissioning and finance with a focus on prevention.
  • Deputising for the PCC when required.

Gemma was formally appointed as the Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner following a confirmation hearing on the 19th July 2024 with the Police and Crime Panel.
